Three New Shows Coming Next Week to The UK
Friday 15th June sees a brand new TV series coming to Channel 4. The new show is names The Million Pound Drop Live, and will air on the popular terrestrial TV channel at 8:30pm. The new series will be presented by the nations famous Davina McCall, who gained much love following her days as the host of Big Brother. Davina has now moved on from the Big Brother house to present this new show which the channel hopes to attract a large number of viewers.
The quiz show will see a selected number of guests all compete to win an impressive, life changing 1 million pound. To win the huge cash prize the contestants will be expected to place large amounts of cash over some trap doors, to which they will then be asked a question. Should the contestants answer the question with the wrong answer they will find that the amount of cash they gambled on that specific trap door is lost! You will find that there is not only one episode of this nerve wracking show for you to enjoy, but over the weeks there will be a total of 10 for you to enjoy in this new series. To keep the series interesting over its 10 episodes there will also be a few celebrities pairing up to try their hand at the game in order to win some cash for charities of their choice.
If you are craving some good old romance, then BBC 1 may have just the thing for you. On Sunday 17th June at 10:25pm a brand new five part series will be airing named True Love. As the name suggests this new drama series will focus on the ups and downs of true love, just the thing for those romantics. The series is already creating a buzz amongst TV fans, as it has been directed and also written by Dominic Savage, who has previously won a Bafta for his work.
The show will follow a series of couples all of whom live in the same town by the seaside. You wil find the cast includes a great deal of familiar faces, including ex Doctor Who actor, David Tennant who plays the part of Nick. It is this character who for several years has been a happily married man with children whom he adores, however his world is turned upside down when he starts to questions his textbook perfect life, when his first love re-enters his life unexpectedly. Also in this star studded series is Vicky McClure and Joanna Froggat.
Also new this month is the second series of The Big C. This new series Losing Patients, will air on Channel 4 on Tuesday 19th June at 1:25am, so if you are a night owl this is sure to keep you entertained. The new 13 part series will follow Cathy, who is continuing her heartfelt battle to beat cancer. The first episode will see Cathy try to obtain an appointment with a new doctor who is considering patients to undergo a clinical trial, in which they hope could be the cure for cancer. Also in this series we will see Cathy’s son, Adam, deal with attention from his fellow school friends and teachers as word spreads of his mother’s illness, as well as Sean undergo preparations as he becomes a Father.
