Three Brand New Shows Coming April 2012

If you love technology and cool gadgets, then make sure you turn your TV over to Channel 5 on Monday 23rd April, as there is a perfect new series that may just be what you are looking for. The new show is The Gadget Show: World Tour, which will air at 8:00pm. This new series, as the name suggests is a newer version of the classic Gadget Show, which has been running successfully for several years on Channel 5.

Fans of the show will notice straight away that there will be new hosts as we say Goodbye to the previous presenters Jon Bentley, Ortis Deley and Suzi Perry. However, two familiar faces will remain including Pollyanna Woodward and Jason Brady. The pair will not only be on the hunt for cool gadgets within the UK, but this new series you will see the presenters travel the globe to see what offerings there are available in several other countries around the world.

This new series will consist of 16 episodes over the coming weeks, with the first taking you to Japan’s capital, abundant with funky gadgets – Tokyo. It is here you will see Pollyanna and Jason have their gadget skills tested to the maximum as they are set the challenge of having to build their very own robot to compete in the popular Robo Pro Wrestling competition. During this first episode you will also be able to experience a new craze in Japan, which is a computer generated concert, as well as see some pop music videos being recorded.

Channel 4 also has a brand new series out this month, named Hidden Talent. This new 16 part series, will air at 9:00pm on Tuesday 24th April. The show is presented by Richard Bacon, and each week you will see him discover general members of the public, whom scientist feel they are able to unearth special abilities the public never even knew they had.

The first episode jumps right in, and sees Richard meet with a 45 year old lady, who is a nurse. Scientists have identified the unsuspecting lady as possibly being a very talented climber. The nurse is then given some training from an expert climbing coach names Martin Chester, who aims to get her ready for a special challenge. Once training has finished, the scientists suspicions will be tested as the possibly talented lady will be set a challenge to climb the Old Man of Stoer, which is a stack of sandstone spanning to heights of 200 feet in the Highlands.

Also during the first episode Richard will meets with a retired 63 year old lady, who scientists believe has an extraordinary talent for being able to detect if someone is lying. The elderly lady, will be taken to America, where she will undergo a 2 day intensive training course by ex-FBI agents named Joe Navarro and Jack Schaeffer, who will help polish her interrogation skills.

Channel 4 will also be airing a pilot for a brand new TV series named, 2 Broke Girls. The pilot will air on Wednesday 25th April at 11:05pm, and if response if good will see 23 episodes being aired over the following weeks. This new show is a comedy, which sees a New York waitress strike up a new friendship with a financially unstable lady. The pair will later go on to become roommates and cause plenty of problems and of course plenty of laughs.
