Why Not Use Foxy Proxy?

A lot of people think that using the ‘free’ Foxy Proxy plugin is a good way to watch BBC iPlayer outside the UK, but in truth it is not such a great option!

Firstly while the program is  free the author would appreciate a donation, so while you are not forced to pay you really should!

Secondly it comes with NO actual proxies to use, so after installation you can’t actually watch BBC iPlayer outside the UK anyway! You need to set the program up with some proxy servers; firstly you will try the free ones. Well I can tell you not to even bother doing this, don’t waste your time, there are NO free proxies which will offer your consistent levels of bandwidth needed to watch BBC iPlayer. You will spend more time looking for a proxy to use than you do actually watching TV! Next you will look for a paid for proxy, and of course Foxy Proxy even has some recommended ones you can use, for only 8 pounds sterling a month… sure 8 pounds is not much, but you are paying for just ONE proxy, so while you can watch UK TV what if you want to watch a bit of US TV? That will be another $8 now please… want Canadian TV??? More money please. What about watching 4oD or TV Catchup? Nope cant do that with Foxy Proxy, because these services require you to use a VPN rather than a proxy. So now we will need a VPN service too, another $10 a month…

So yes you can use Foxy Proxy to watch BBC iplayer outside the UK, BUT for les than 7 Euros a month you can use Identity Cloaker which will give you UK and US servers and BOTH proxy and VPN solutions. With this package are NO TV options which you can’t currently watch. Not only that but you can use the package when you are not watching TV to increase your privacy levels online.

Quite a few people have got back to me worried because they don’t mention TV on the Identity Cloaker website, well don’t worry! They don’t mention is as they dont want to draw attention to this fact as the TV companies might not be too happy about it! They do however take it seriously, in fact they have SO many people using their service to watch UK TV they even installed extra servers just to meet the demand!
